Primary purpose:
Achieve the UK and Nordic regional sales / account objectives as agreed annually by the parent group. Lead the sales team. Identify, develop and commercialize new business typically via multiplication of successful existing or newly developed applications at existing (and targeted) key customers.
The Role:
* Define and execute the UK and Nordic regional sales strategy in conjunction with the Managing Director and senior leadership team of the parent group, and to realize sales objectives.
* Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring support to the UK sales team.
* Lead contract negotiations with key UK and Nordic customers around pricing, service and delivery within boundaries set by group.
* Lead the KAMs in defining, developing and commercializing new projects, customers and applications within the UK strategy and the ambition of individual product lines.
* Responsible for defining new value propositions with key customers and potential business opportunities for commercial development and for communicating value propositions to the market.
* Approve the business case presented by the KAMs who will be initiating development agreements with customers.
* Ensure sales team accurately adds and maintains projects to internal tracking systems.
* Responsible for collecting market information and communicating current and emerging needs for existing and potential accounts to drive new business development.
* Ensure accurate sales forecasting is provided by KAMs.
* Ensure that credit limits and invoice payments are made across all UK and Nordic customers and working with KAMs to deliver against this performance measurement.
* Reviewing the response to any customer complaints and approving any settlements (including product returns).
Person Profile:
* Ideally degree in a relevant technology and / or business related field.
* Experience of leading and coaching sales teams to achieve their performance potential.
* Capability of working across cross-cultural teams (both colleagues and customers).
* Knowledge of the plastics/polymer raw material industry and markets.
* Experience of polyamides is of particular interest.
* Knowledge of sales processes.
* Relationship builder with good social and networking skills.
* Experience of finance, product management and additional understanding of technical service and application development.
* Excellent communication and social skills.
* Analytical with good judgement, business sense and problem solving skills.
* Strong negotiator, able to identify customers’ needs, persuasive when presenting ideas.
* Team player and able to work independently.
* Creative with entrepreneurial experience.
* Structured worker with good time management and project management ability.
