Location Stevenage (Hertfordshire) £12.22 - £13.00 per hour depending on skills and experience
The role of a Bakery Support Operative is to Safely and efficiently operate bakery equipment and maintain the cleanliness of bread manufacturing plant. Working with others, achieve high levels of targeted performance, customer satisfaction and quality standards; this will be founded on a culture of continuous improvement, development and learning. It is expected that the jobholder will positively contribute to an environment where critical thinking and constructive challenging is the norm. This is a fast-paced environment job. There will be opportunities to develop and move to other departments.
Working 42 hours per week on average, on a 4 on/4 off basis (4 days 06.00-18.00 followed by 4 days off)
Key Accountabilities
- Operate semi-automated Baking Machines,
- Manual handling of Bread loaves and slices,
- To deliver product quality through all systems available and others,
- Once experience is gained, you will support new team members with on-job training,
- Assist Hygiene Team with cleaning and baskets feeding when production finishes.
- To Engage in the Safety-First culture and compliance with AB internal policies and procedures
- To deliver product quality to required standards
- To contribute to the delivery of a production plan
-Ensure your own, development and training needs are identified. Participate in the proactive environment of learning (1:1’s)
- To actively participate and contribute in the sharing of “Best Practice” within manufacturing
The Right Person
Essential
Demonstrate a good level of Health and Food Safety awareness
Experience in shift working (ideally in manufacturing/warehouse environment)
Numerical, reading and information recording skills.
Advantageous
Computer Literate (understand and interact with HMI screens)
Ability to understand basic mechanical and fault finding skills
