Description
CSG is seeking a Legal Finance Compliance Manager to oversee compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies. The role involves collaboration with the finance service centre and legal teams to ensure adherence to the three UK regulators: The Solicitors Regulatory Authority (England & Wales), The Law Society of Scotland, and The Law Society of Northern Ireland.
This position combines financial oversight, regulatory compliance, risk management, and staff training. The manager will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational accountability of CSG.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing the reconciliation team, including performance reviews, coaching, and development.
* Providing cover for the Reconciliation Supervisor during absences.
* Ensuring new systems and processes comply with regulations and strengthening controls.
* Aligning financial procedures with best practices and regulatory standards.
* Ensuring adherence to legal financial regulations such as the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
* Monitoring and updating internal policies, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating policies effectively.
* Designing and delivering staff training on financial compliance and regulations.
* Maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities and monitoring regulatory changes.
* Preparing reports for senior management and external auditors.
* Leading internal audits focused on financial compliance.
* Investigating compliance breaches and recommending corrective actions.
* Ensuring client financial records meet standards.
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong understanding of financial laws and regulations, especially within the legal sector (e.g., Solicitors Accounts Rules).
* Qualified ILFM at least at Associate level.
* Experience working in a law firm or professional services organization, preferably with E&W, NI, and/or Scotland.
* Analytical skills to interpret financial data and develop solutions.
* Attention to detail with high accuracy.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience managing and coaching teams.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and confident.
