Overview
We are partnering with a leading specialist in passive fire protection to recruit an experienced Fire Door Contracts Manager to oversee and drive their fire door contracts across the Midlands. This is a high-profile, hands-on leadership role, critical to delivering quality, compliance, and profitability across regional projects along the M1 corridor with projects in Nottingham and Northampton.
Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of regional fire door contracts (installation, refurbishment, maintenance and inspection) from mobilisation through to completion
* Planning, scheduling and resourcing of site teams, subcontractors, materials, and logistics across multiple simultaneous projects
* Ensure all works comply with relevant fire door standards, building regulations, third-party accreditation requirements and client specifications
* Conduct site visits, audits and quality inspections to maintain workmanship standards
* Act as main technical authority for fire door issues on site — providing guidance, resolving defects and escalations
* Liaise closely with clients, project engineers, architects, consultants and regulatory bodies
* Cost control and financial reporting
* Health & safety oversight, ensuring safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements
* Mentor, develop and lead site teams and subcontractors, promoting high standards and continuous improvement
* Support tendering and bid activities, providing technical input, resource planning and risk assessments
About You
* Substantial experience (5+ years) in fire door / passive fire protection contracts management roles
* Proven track record in delivering regional contracts, ideally across north England
* Strong knowledge of fire door standards, certification schemes and building regulations
* Excellent technical understanding of fire door systems, installation and inspection processes
* Strong leadership, communication and client-management skills
* Financially astute with experience in cost control, forecasting and contract commercial management
* Confident in site oversight, quality control and health & safety compliance
* Able to travel regularly across the North of England (occasional overnight stays)
* Full UK driving licence
