The role
Vision for Education are on the hunt for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background of working with children with Special Educational Needs within the Walsall area. Role: Teaching Assistant. Location: Walsall Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £92 to £100 per day. About the Role Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Walsall. This rewarding role involves working closely with an individual student to help them access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s specific learning and emotional needs Assist with the delivery of lessons and adapt materials where necessary Support behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies Encourage independence, social interaction, and engagement in learning Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO Monitor and record the pupil’s progress Requirements Experience working with children or young people (preferably in an educational setting) A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential Have or be able to obtain a DBS Certificate registered to the update service. Be able to gain at least two relevant references covering the last 2 years. Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
