About Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD)

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), including speech, language, communication difficulties, and dysfluency. Use evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions across various settings.
2. Provide clinical support and supervision to less experienced SLTs within the team and across pathways such as Speech, Language and Communication, Neurodiversity, Community Children’s Nursing, Physical and Sensory, and Vulnerable Children’s Pathways.
3. Coordinate clinic operations with the Clinical Team Manager and oversee day-to-day caseload management.
4. Lead team audits and monitor outcomes for interventions, reporting findings to the locality lead.
5. Participate in student placement programs.

CFHD comprises an alliance of NHS organizations including Torbay and South Devon FT, Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Royal Devon and Exeter FT, Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, and Livewell South West. We work closely with other providers to deliver integrated, locality, and county-wide services based on the i-Thrive Framework, developed in partnership with children, young people, and families.
