Job Summary
This Consultant Paediatric Radiologist role supports a team of four paediatric radiologists, providing high‑quality paediatric diagnostic imaging, contributing to adult diagnostic work, and enhancing service delivery through education, research and leadership. The post requires participation in national guidance implementation, MDMs, teaching, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first‑class paediatric radiology services, including imaging interpretation and reporting.
* Assist in adult diagnostic imaging where necessary.
* Lead and co‑manage a 24/7 on‑call rota (≈1:20 to 1:12).
* Supervise junior medical/dental practitioners and academic staff.
* Deliver teaching, examination and accreditation duties; support the training of specialist registrars.
* Participate in MDMs, case discussions, and clinical governance initiatives (audit, M&M, clinical trials).
* Contribute to research and quality improvement projects within the Trust and in partnership with King’s College London/KHP.
* Support the preparation and execution of the Care Group's business plan and service planning.

Grade: Consultant — Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year (excluding London Zone Allowance) — Contract: Permanent — Working Pattern: Part‑time — Location: Denmark Hill & Pritchard Road, London, SE5 8AD
Essential Qualifications
* Registerable medical qualification (FRCR or equivalent).
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
* Within six months of CCT (or equivalent) at interview.
* Extensive experience in paediatric radiology and the complete UK radiology curriculum.
Desirable Qualifications
* Higher degree or diploma (MD(Res), PhD).
* CCT or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in paediatric radiology beyond the required.
* Additional research and publication record in radiology.
Training and Experience
* Wide experience of all radiology aspects in the UK, culminating in CCT or equivalent.
* Evidence of day‑to‑day organisational leadership in a busy radiology department.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and demonstrating leadership capability.
* Proven audit, quality improvement and research support experience.
Administrative Responsibilities
* Maintain trust infection prevention and control policies, hand hygiene, environmental and food hygiene standards.
* Ensure confidentiality of patient and staff information.
* Keep up to date with Trust training requirements and statutory duties.
Leadership & Management
* Formulate and support the Care Group’s business plan, service plans and development proposals.
* Contribute to service delivery metrics and continuous improvement.
Audit, Quality & Research
* Support audit programmes, morbidity and mortality reviews, and learning from death initiatives.
* Lead and contribute to educational research, data capture for research proposals and publication of findings.
Teaching
* Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and exam preparation.
* Provide continuous professional development, coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
