The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Summary of position:
The Painting Technician in the Aerospace industry is responsible for ensuring that aircraft components are prepared and painted to meet industry standards and customer requirements. They play a critical role in the finishing process of aerospace parts, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and protective coatings for durability and performance.
Main responsibilities:
•Prepare aircraft components for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
•Mix and apply paint, primer, and coatings according to specifications and industry standards.
•Operate painting equipment such as spray guns, airbrushes, and paint booths safely and effectively.
•Perform quality inspections before, during, and after painting to ensure adherence to specifications.
•Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to paint application or finish quality.
•Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition, performing regular maintenance and cleaning.
•Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
•Executing comprehensive paint preparation tasks, encompassing chemical stripping and sanding across diverse substrates such as aluminum, composite, steel, stainless steel, etc
•Keep accurate records of paint usage, inventory, and work performed.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in painting or related field preferred.
•Proven experience as a painter or painting technician, preferably in the aerospace industry.
•Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment used in aircraft painting.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
•Strong attention to detail and quality, with a focus on producing flawless finishes.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•Willingness to adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
