Missile Test & Testability Expert – Hybrid (UK)
About the Role:
Join a high-performing Test Architect team and contribute as a subject matter expert across all stages of the missile test process.
This role is ideal for technically-driven engineers with experience in electronic circuit design, testing, failure analysis, and test equipment design. You will be involved in feasibility studies, series production, and in-service support for missile programmes, helping define test strategies, BIT architectures, and improving testability across projects.
Reporting to the Test and Testability Department Head and, from a project perspective, to the Project Chief Design Engineer, this role provides scope to grow technical expertise, lead work packages, and influence test and testability strategy across multiple programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define project test strategies and Built-In Test (BIT) architectures
* Develop and maintain technical requirements for test equipment
* Analyse production test data to identify trends and diagnose failures
* Participate in Red-Team reviews and support critical issue resolution
* Support new product bid activities and departmental strategy
* Mentor and actively support team members
* Lead or participate in technical work packages and manage associated risks
* Provide technical leadership and influence senior stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
* Degree-level education (or equivalent) with significant experience in electronic test across all project lifecycle stages
* Expertise in electronic circuit design, testing, and failure analysis techniques
* Experience in test equipment design and requirements capture
* Knowledge of Design for Testability (DfT)
* Ability to lead technical work packages alongside project managers
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical direction
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Willingness to travel within the UK and EU as required

* Salary: Circa £72,000 depending on experience
* Company Bonus: Up to 27% of base salary
