Teacher of Humanities (0.6 FTE) – Maternity Cover

The Governing Body of St Joseph’s Catholic School & Sixth Form Centre is seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious, and passionate Teacher of Humanities to join our team on a part-time (0.6 FTE) maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented practitioner to contribute to a thriving and supportive department within a forward-thinking school.

As a Teacher of Humanities, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching across the Humanities curriculum, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of the world. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on experience), ensuring high standards of achievement and engagement for all students.

1. Is an excellent classroom practitioner within Humanities (e.g. History or Geography);
2. Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for their specialism;
3. Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities;
4. Has high expectations for student achievement, progress and attitudes;
5. Is confident teaching across KS3 and KS4;
6. Is committed to collaborative working and curriculum development;
7. Brings enthusiasm, energy, and a commitment to student success;
8. Believes in the transformative power of education.
