You’ll be making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs in your local community. Working term time only, this role offers around 10 hours a week with mornings and afternoons free during school holidays. You’ll earn £12.45 per hour, gain valuable experience, and be part of a team that’s dedicated to supporting Dorset families. What you’ll be doing You’ll work as a Passenger Assistant, helping to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for children and young people travelling to and from The Wyvern School in Weymouth. You’ll provide assistance on the vehicle, support the driver in maintaining a secure environment, and help the young people feel at ease throughout their journey. Your hours will fit around the school day, with all leave taken in school holidays. About you you’ll be caring, patient and reliable, with a flexible approach and a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs you’ll have some understanding of safeguarding, be able to spot hazards and know how to report them you’ll ideally have knowledge of moderate and complex learning needs you’ll be physically fit and able to run, bend, stretch, push, pull, lift, carry and kneel as needed to keep children safe and comfortable If you’re looking for rewarding part-time work that fits around family life or other commitments, we’d love to hear from you. Further Information Dorset Travel is also an accredited training centre with experienced and qualified trainers, new staff will be invited onto a full induction training course, providing the tools and knowledge to enable you to work safely and professionally. We base the pro-rata salary on: the number of hours the number of weeks worked paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years’ service In the first year of service this salary may need to be adjusted to ensure you are paid accurately to reflect your holiday entitlement. A similar adjustment may be made at the point your employment ends to ensure that you are paid accurately for the number of days worked in any academic year.
