Job Overview
An exciting opportunity is available within the newly formed Bristol Hospital Group Temporary Staffing team, as Group Temporary Staffing Deputy Operations Manager.
The role will be required to work across all 3 hospital sites; Southmead Hospital, Weston General and Bristol hospitals working closely with both operational and clinical teams ensuring the provision of high quality and effective temporary staffing services across the group. You will also have the opportunity to contribute and develop service improvement plans and to shape the future of the newly formed group service.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direction of the Group Temporary Staffing Operations Senior Manager the Group Deputy Operations Manager for Temporary Staffing will be responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of temporary workforce services across UHBW and NBT. The postholder will ensure that temporary staffing supply meets the needs of clinical and non-clinical services, balancing quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness. The role will also provide support to the Group Clinical Temporary Staffing Senior Manager.
This role involves overseeing both bank and agency staffing arrangements, monitoring usage against KPIs, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to Trust and national workforce policies.
The Group Deputy Operations Manager will lead the operations team leaders, providing clear direction, professional development, and support to deliver safe and effective services.
The postholder will work closely with divisional teams, HR, finance, and external staffing providers to maintain a flexible, reliable, and sustainable workforce supply. They will also contribute to workforce planning, digital and process improvements, and initiatives that reduce reliance on Temporary staffing.
This is a key operational role, requiring strong organisational, financial, and people management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a complex NHS environment.
