Job Description
The Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor will play a pivotal role in assisting the Occupational Unit Lead and the Force Medical Advisor in providing occupational health services. The role involves promoting and maintaining the health and safety of our workforce, collaborating with employees, management, and stakeholders to implement effective occupational health programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of well-being within the organisation.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 60% on-site work per week.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support a team of Occupational Health Nurse Advisors and an Occupational Health Nurse.
* Manage your own caseload.
* Coordinate and conduct health surveillance and Hep B clinics, including pre-employment screenings and periodic health check-ups.
* Be an active member of the multidisciplinary senior OH team.
* Prepare and review Occupational Health policies and procedures.
* Represent the department at meetings across the organisation and with external partners.
* Deputise for the OH Unit Lead as required.
* Lead on workplace streams such as working groups, Cority, Oscar Kilo standards, etc.
* Triage referrals and allocate them appropriately.
* Provide expert guidance on occupational health issues and support employees in managing health conditions, including redeployment.
* Collaborate with HR, safety teams, and management on injury prevention and health promotion initiatives.
* Develop and deliver wellbeing initiatives to increase employee awareness and engagement.
* Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with regulations.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with a degree in Occupational Health.
* Experience as a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor is advantageous.
* Knowledge of occupational health regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in occupational health software (e.g., Cority) and electronic health records systems.
