Job overview

The post holder is responsible for providing support to ensure Clinical Trial related activities within the pharmacy department are managed in accordance with relevant legislation and of high-quality.

The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of the Trust research teams and members of the trial Sponsors teams e.g. Clinical Research Assistants (CRAs)

Main duties of the job

This post includes administrative duties, providing support to the pharmacy clinical trials team with an increasing portfolio of work with the view to develop more pharmacy related skills, including dispensing of trial and non-trial medications.

16. Willing to work across sites

17. Willing to adapt to special requirements e.g. handling cytotoxic drugs

Education and Experience

Essential criteria

18. Sound educational backgroud
19. Knowledge of Microsoft software in an office environment (e.g. Excel, Word)

Desirable criteria

20. Hospital or Pharmacy Experience
21. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria

22. Ability to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
23. To be literate and numerate
24. To be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner
25. Have basic keyboard/computer skills
26. Keep accurate and legible records

Desirable criteria

27. Able to work unsupervised as well as take instruction
28. Ability to work in and organised fashion
29. Recognise limits of of competencies and know when to refer to colleagues for advice

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
