Social Media Manager – Portsmouth based - onsite - up to £36,000
We’re working with a fast-growing consumer tech business that’s redefining how pet owners stay connected with their pets. Launched just a few years ago, they’ve already built a global community of over a million pet owners across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, with exciting European expansion plans.
The Role
They’re looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to take ownership of their online presence, someone who can bring fresh ideas, create engaging content, and build meaningful connections with their audience. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be creating content daily, engaging with the community, managing influencers, and representing the brand both online and at live events.
Responsibilities
* Plan, create and manage engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other key platforms
* Build and maintain a content calendar that supports campaigns, launches, and brand storytelling
* Shoot and edit short-form videos, photos, and visuals that capture the brand’s energy and connect with pet lovers
* Keep up to date with social media trends and use them to grow reach and engagement
* Build a genuine online community responding to comments and messages, running competitions, and sparking conversation
* Manage influencer and creator collaborations, from outreach through to content delivery
* Attend and represent the brand at pet shows and community events, capturing live content and connecting with followers in person
* Analyse social media metrics and performance data to help refine content and strategy
Qualifications
* Previous experience managing social media channels and communities for a consumer-facing brand
* Confident creating and editing video content (experience with tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Premiere is a bonus)
* Strong creative instinct, great eye for design, and excellent written communication
* Comfortable working at pace, balancing multiple projects, and thinking proactively
* A genuine love for pets and understanding of online pet communities
* Willingness to travel for events and hands-on campaigns when needed
