Bridlington School is seeking a maternity cover for the role of ITand Business Teacher. You will pick up a varied and interesting timetable, teaching KS3 to KS5(dependant on your experience).
Bridlington Schoolhas invested heavily in itsdigital learning provision. We recognise the need for digital upskilling following the transformation in the modern workforceas a result ofthe pandemic. Building on our existing strengths wehave rebrandedour computing department to become the Creative Digital department. It is vital that we provide students with a future proof education centred around the digital skills students need to become well rounded global citizens. To this effect this year wehave also invested in abrand new 25 seat eSportsclass room, this new facility accommodatesstudents studying BTEC level 3 eSports qualification.
Beyond the next academic year, we are looking into the possibility of adding further qualifications to enhance our provision.
The Role
The provision of IT at KS3 follows an adapted version of the NCCE IT framework to ensure all students receive a well-rounded and accessible syllabus. It is the vision of the Creative Digital department that students will be equipped with critical skills such as creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration, ensuring they learn the knowledge and skillsrequiredto thrive in their chosen careers. As a department we are well resourced and the school believes that it is vital that our students should learn good computing skills, become independent creative users of digital technology and that digital literacy will sit alongside literacy and numeracy as essential disciplines in the future connected world.
With this in mind, youwill teach a varied and progressive timetableofBusiness, IT and Computing courses including the opportunity to develop the syllabus for CreativeiMediaandEsports.

About You
The main priority in terms of teaching experience is:
* Be familiar with and have delivered some elements of the key stage 3 computer science national curriculum and the related NCCE curriculum framework.
* Be familiar with and have delivered some elements of either the Level 1 / 2 Creative iMedia, BTEC level 3 eSports, or other KS4/5 computing qualifications.
* Be familiar with and have delivered some elements Business at KS4/5.
* Be flexible to help design and deliver a suite of appropriate computing and business qualifications.
Thesuccessful candidate will:
* Have a passion to enthuse students using expertise in the Business/IT/Computing.
* Be outgoing, flexible and adaptable to cope with demands of the role.
* Have a commitment to professional development;
* Have experience of working with children.
* Have the ability to manage a whole classroom environment.
* Be a form tutor and support the academic and pastoral development of your tutor group.
* A passion for extra-curricular / enrichment activities.
