Allen Lane are supporting a local authority in their recruitment for a Conveyancing Assistant to support their Legal Services team. The role involves providing administrative and legal support on a wide range of property matters, including residential and commercial conveyancing, leases, licences, right‑to‑buy transactions, land charges, and general property enquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist solicitors and legal officers with the preparation, drafting, and processing of conveyancing documents.
* Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and handle routine correspondence.
* Conduct legal research, organise searches, and coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders.
* Support the progression of property transactions from instruction to completion.
* Ensure compliance with local government procedures, statutory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working in local government or a similar public sector legal environment.
* Understanding of local authority property processes, land law, and conveyancing procedures.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
