Position Fairfield Park Health Centre are looking to welcome a 4 session Salaried GP to join our excellent team, working all day Wednesday and Friday.
Job Responsibilities The post holder will manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring a high standard of care for all our patients. In accordance with our practice rota (as agreed), the post holder will undertake a variety of duties, including face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, same‑day walk‑in and wait appointments, checking/signing repeat prescriptions and pro‑rata duty doctor responsibility.
Our surgeries are a combination of routine pre‑booked or same‑day appointments and the format is a combination of telephone and face‑to‑face contacts.
We have a low home‑visiting rate as we have excellent support from our PCN Paramedic, and you will have opportunity for peer support at our regular clinical and non‑clinical lunch‑time meetings.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referral or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
Providing counselling and health education.
Referring patients to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Compiling and issuing computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Assist with the supervision of registrars.
In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within UK primary care.

Qualifications
Fully qualified GP, eligible to practice in the UK with GMC registration & on the Medical Performers List.
Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
Evidence of continued professional development.
Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
Experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to prioritise work and work under pressure.
Organised/efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork.
