Job overview A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the GRaDE Care Group, for a senior nurse to undertake the role of Deputy Nurse Director. We are seeking applications from experienced senior nurses who have demonstrable acute clinical experience, dynamic leadership skills and are highly motivated with a desire to progress in their nursing career. The post holder will actively lead and manage the governance agenda, working closely with the medical quality leads and the care group governance coordinator, providing support and advice relating to clinical and non-clinical governance. The post holder will lead and manage the Education team and provide leadership and support to deliver on the care groups educational priorities. They will support the Nurse Director across the full range of duties, providing strong leadership and professional advice across multi professional teams to enable high quality patient centred services and care. This role will be expected to represent nursing at Trust and National level and will lead on specific projects and work streams on behalf of the Care Group, deputising for the Nurse Director in her absence. Attributes should include proven leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate evidence of leading and managing change in a dynamic and challenging environment. The post holder will be able to demonstrate experience of working effectively in a complex, multi professional environment within an acute hospital setting. Main duties of the job The post holder will: • Provide strong leadership, effective management and professional advice, which enable high quality patient centred services to be delivered to patients within GRaDE with the resources available. • Provide leadership advice and support on the clinical governance agenda, including clinical and non-clinical governance. • Provide leadership advice and support to the Education team enabling them to meet their KPIs • Work closely with the Nurse Director and act on his/her behalf when absent supporting the wider senior nursing team. • Provide leadership, support and monitor the development of the Governance Co-ordinator within a robust clinical governance system and structure. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria • Registered Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the Nurses and Midwives Council. • Proven leadership skills • 1st or higher degree • Masters Qualification or actively working towards. • Recognised management qualification Desirable criteria • Recognised qualification in the sphere of clinical governance e.g. Audit, Health & Safety, Law, Clinical and Non-clinical Risk. Experience Essential criteria • Significant post-registration experience of working effectively in a relevant multi-professional environment; a considerable amount of which must have been at middle management level and have included effectively managing staff, budgets and high quality patient centred acute services. • Evidence of contributing to, and effectively implementing nursing strategy. • Experience of developing robust healthcare governance systems. • Evidence of patient experience management and development of robust learning and feedback process to enhance patient experience and outcomes Desirable criteria • Experience of multi-agency team / project work • Experience of managing regional specialities • Managing complaints procedure.
