About the Role Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious science and technology organisation developing a world-class campus in Oxford to support breakthrough research and innovation. They are seeking a hands-on Repair and Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of facilities and equipment, delivering high-quality maintenance & repair services across a complex, multi-site environment of laboratories and offices. Key Responsibilities You will play a key role in ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained environments across multiple sites, delivering a broad range of maintenance and repair services. Carry out general maintenance and repair works to a quality finish, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor fabric tasks Diagnose, resolve, and escalate building and equipment faults as required Support maintenance activities within regulated environments, including laboratory and clinical areas Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health, safety, and compliance requirements Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to deliver maintenance across multiple sites, providing a high level of service to stakeholders Maintain tools, materials, and basic records of work completed, while supporting out-of-hours and on-call requirements where needed Essential Requirements Previous experience in a facilities maintenance, handyperson, or multi-trade role Broad practical knowledge of general building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required) Desirable Experience Trade certification (electrical, plumbing, or similar) Experience working in laboratory, healthcare, or other regulated environments Basic IT skills for logging work and maintenance systems Whats On Offer This is a unique opportunity to work in a technically advanced environment, supporting a facilities team that is critical role in enabling world-class research and innovation.
