The Role
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our engineering team in Oxford. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, carrying out planned maintenance, and responding quickly to breakdowns in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults including motors, drives, sensors, PLCs and control systems
* Support mechanical maintenance tasks when required
* Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
Requirements
* Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a manufacturing / industrial maintenance environment
* Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems and control panels
* Basic mechanical competence (bearings, belts, gearboxes, etc.)
* Experience with PLC fault finding (desirable)
* Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
