Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Leader (Associate/Director Grade) to join our busy and expanding Energy & Natural Resources Team, undertaking a range of Controls & Performance duties on high‑profile projects/programmes across the UK. The role will also allow you to innovate, collaborate and learn from our experienced and award‑winning Scope & Integration community and the wider Controls & Performance Network.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and integrate delivery of controls & performance (project controls), working with major clients and delivery partners.
* Lead cross‑discipline teams of project controls professionals to deliver effective, consistent, assured and value‑adding services across diverse and complex programmes.
* Drive continuous improvement in project controls processes to create efficiency and increase benefits to clients.
* Define and implement project controls approaches at project, programme and portfolio levels, enabling effective decision‑making.
* Define and implement effective governance and assurance processes around project controls products.
* Work with clients to develop relevant breakdown structures and support scope definitions.
* Define scaled, tailored, and integrated approaches for project controls and document them (e.g., in a Project Control System Definition).
* Work with the Integrated Project Team to establish a robust, accurate Performance Measurement Baseline and manage the change control process.
* Work with Project and Commercial Management to establish the Supplier Project Controls contract requirements, and collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse their performance data.
* Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule integration and alignment, and analyse performance data to provide delivery insight and facilitate decisions.
* Train and coach clients and less experienced team members on performance and reporting management processes and practices.
* Assure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the Project Controls Team’s output.
* Undertake line‑management activities, including career development and performance management.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in the application of project controls disciplines (planning, cost estimation, cost management, risk management or reporting) across multiple projects.
* Practical experience of integrating project controls disciplines and assessing a team’s maturity and ways of working.
* Experience managing stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience using project controls software and systems (Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys, etc.).
* A project‑controls related qualification (e.g., Project Planning & Controls) is desirable.
Skills and Behaviours
* Ability to work with senior management/leadership, guiding, mentoring and driving performance management and action within a complex project/programme environment.
* Ability to lead a team, responsible for defining an integrated project controls service on complex projects/programmes.
* Guide the delivery team on appropriate use of systems and tools such as Power BI and Excel in relation to integrated project controls, performance management, analysis & reporting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, liaising with clients, contractors and designers.
* Embrace challenges and opportunities to make positive change for clients.
* Effectively collaborate and communicate with people to deliver our best work.
* Help each other maximise potential through proactive collaboration and effective teamwork.
* Takes responsibility for personal performance and core skill development.

* Possesses a UK driving licence or ability to travel to client sites across the region as required.
