The Role This is a standalone Finance Manager position, offering full ownership of the finance function across two creative businesses within the group. You'll be the sole in-house finance professional—responsible for all aspects of day-to-day financial management and commercial insight.
You’ll work closely with the Founder and senior leadership team to provide strategic analysis, cash flow planning, and scenario modelling, while also managing core operations such as invoicing, ledger maintenance, and management accounts. You’ll act as the primary contact for external accountants and lead financial development as the business scales.
Key Success Measures
* Timely, accurate financial reporting to support leadership decisions
* Strong cash flow management and debtor control (<10% overdue)
* Robust, audit-ready ledger and reconciliation processes
* Scalable systems and processes embedded across the business
Key Responsibilities
Purchase & Sales Ledger
* Maintain supplier onboarding, PO tracking, and invoice control via Synergist and Xero
* Process expenses, subscriptions, and card reconciliations
* Raise client invoices and manage debtor communications
* Schedule payment runs and manage supplier queries
P&L and Balance Sheet Management
* Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
* Monitor revenue recognition, accruals/deferrals, and project profitability
* Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
* Lead year-end prep and external accountant liaison
* Develop cash flow forecasts, budgets, and scenario models
Reporting & Strategic Insight
* Deliver weekly updates on cash flow and revenue performance to leadership
* Present financial insights to inform pricing, investment, and resourcing decisions
* Develop and refine internal dashboards and performance reporting
* Support operational efficiency and procurement planning
What We’re Looking For
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a standalone finance or SME leadership role
* Commercially sharp and confident translating numbers into strategy
* Proficient in Xero, Excel, and ideally familiar with Synergist
* Strong communicator who engages well with creative and senior stakeholders
* Hands-on, meticulous, and proactive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
