Role Overview The Extrusion Packer is responsible for packing, inspecting, and preparing products produced from the extrusion line. The role ensures that all finished goods meet quality standards, are correctly labelled, and are safely palletised for storage or dispatch. This position supports smooth production flow and contributes to overall manufacturing efficiency. Key Responsibilities Production & Packing Pack products directly from the extrusion line according to job specifications and customer requirements. Monitor the extrusion line output to ensure consistent product quality. Label, wrap, and palletise finished goods following company standards. Safely stack and organise products in designated storage areas. Quality Control Inspect products for defects, inconsistencies, or contamination. Report non-conformances to supervisors immediately. Ensure batch numbers, labels, and documentation are accurate. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene in the packing area. Machine & Line Support Assist machine operators with line changes, cleaning, and setup when required. Ensure materials and packaging supplies are available for continuous production. Support basic troubleshooting activities under supervision. Health, Safety & Compliance Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements. Ensure safe manual handling practices at all times. Keep work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards. Report any safety incidents, near misses, or equipment concerns promptly. Administrative Duties Complete production records, packing sheets, and quality checklists accurately. Update stock or job information as required by supervisors. Communicate effectively with colleagues during handovers and team briefings. Skills & Competencies Good attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality. Strong awareness of health and safety procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Good time management and reliability. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely (manual handling). Qualifications & Experience Previous experience working in manufacturing, packaging, or extrusion (preferred but not essential). Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Understanding of quality standards in a production environment. Forklift licence is an advantage (if required for role). Additional Requirements Ability to work shifts, including nights or weekends, depending on rota. Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Willingness to undertake training and development as required.
