My client is a leading PBSA provider, with over 20+ sites across UK cities and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, safe, and inclusive student accommodation. As a growing company that truly values community, sustainability, and student wellbeing, they are now seeking a General Manager to lead their flagship PBSA site in the heart of Manchester.
As General Manager, you’ll be the figurehead of the property, responsible for setting the tone, culture, and standards of excellence in student living. You’ll lead and inspire your team to deliver excellence.
Your Responsibilities:
* Lead, motivate, and inspire your cluster team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, high performance, and continuous development.
* Ensure the delivery of an exceptional student experience, prioritising safety, wellbeing, and community engagement across all properties.
* Collaborate with central functions and regional leadership to deliver the national operations strategy, while tailoring local initiatives to meet the specific needs of your students.
* Drive commercial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximising revenue through strong occupancy, sales, and financial planning.
* Build strong student communities by supporting resident events, engagement activities, and wellbeing initiatives that create a connected living experience.
* Take ownership of project delivery and capital planning, ensuring initiatives are executed to support long-term growth and student satisfaction.
* Manage team performance effectively, recognising success while addressing underperformance constructively to maintain service excellence.
Your Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within PBSA or BTR sector.
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving financial, occupancy, and operational targets.
* Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
* Confident in managing performance, having challenging conversations, and driving a culture of accountability.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements within residential or service-led environments.
* A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with regional and central teams to deliver both national strategies and local initiatives.
