An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our integrated Care of The Elderly Therapy team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Care of The Elderly and delivering a quality service, with an interest in developing their own skills and those of the service. They will lead on evidence-based practice and develop initiatives to meet the changing needs of the population and the acute trust, providing high-quality and evidence-based therapy. They will be motivated to develop themselves and colleagues amidst the demands of working in a busy acute hospital.
Our large, friendly therapy department offers support through regular supervision, appraisal, training, and development opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting operational management of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff, including supervision, appraisal, training, and support.
2. Handling performance management issues in consultation with HR and the Lead Therapist.
3. Ensuring effective stock control and resource use to support budget management, reviewing staff resources and skill mix.
4. Delivering therapeutic interventions as a specialist clinician, using principles of occupational therapy in a client-centred manner.
5. Using highly specialist clinical reasoning to assess, diagnose, plan, and treat patients with diverse or complex presentations, working autonomously.
