Enterprise Data Sharing Solutions (EDSS) is part of the Enterprise Data Governance, Digital & Data Platforms (EDGP) organization, which sits within Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS). Through the implementation of modern data sharing capabilities and strategies, the EDSS organization aims to provide efficient, safe and purposeful data sharing for our customers and enterprise partners alike. Catalyzed by these goals, as well as the rapidly changing landscape of global data regulations, such as Open Banking and privacy, EDSS is embarking on an exciting and transformational journey to both establish and modernize core digital and data-centric privacy and sharing capabilities at American Express. The Director or Product Management, Data Privacy will focus on capabilities related to enabling and evidencing AXP’s compliance with the processing of personal data in accordance with global privacy regulations. Specifically, this role will be responsible for core tooling and strategy that enables comprehensive and accurate Records of Processing, as well as the automated discovery of personal data for Data Subject Access Requests. The Director, Data Privacy will lead a team that shapes the long-term strategy for this space, while also focusing on the efficient delivery of a near-term roadmap through partnership with lines of business, product teams, and second line partners.How will you make an impact in this role?Build and lead a product management team to deliver the initial launch of a new Records of Processing (ROPA) tool at American Express, while shaping the long term strategy for comprehensive and accurate automation going forward. Partner with engineering and business unit teams to identify and procure the new ROPA tool, as well as complete onboarding and execute integration roadmap for data sourcesPartner with cross-functional teams to design the product roadmap for individual data discovery in accordance with Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR)Collaborate with Enterprise Data Governance team to identify synergies and align roadmaps to core data governance processesWork with business units and second line to align product roadmaps to uplifted completion processes for ROPAs and DSARsCommunicate progress of critical initiatives to key stakeholders Minimum QualificationsSignificant years of demonstrated excellence in leading product owner teams delivering technology-driven business solutions across the enterpriseHighly organized and self-motivated individual who can combine problem-resolution, insights-driven prioritization, and ability to influence to achieve critical business goalsConfidence in decision-making in complex & ambiguous situations; comfortable troubleshooting and aligning conflicting interestsAbility to communicate complex technical solutions & processes to a wide variety of audiences Ability to synthesize customer feedback, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and future-focused business needs into a well-prioritized, executable product roadmapKnowledge of the global privacy landscape strongly preferredAbility to discover and design scalable solutions and processes, and lead implementation of those processes across a matrixed environmentUniversity degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, master’s degree preferredQualificationsWe back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
