The Role
The post holder will report to the Head of Digital Governance and be responsible for leading the planning, development, implementation and continual improvement of IT Service Continuity and Business Continuity activities across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will play a key operational and strategic role in ensuring critical digital services are resilient and aligned with organisational risk management and preparedness frameworks. The Digital Service Continuity Manager will provide expert guidance in developing and maintaining digital service continuity policies, procedures and frameworks, including coordinating regular risk assessments, business impact analysis and continuity planning across digital systems and infrastructure, as well as testing and live invocation of plans as required. As the primary contact for Business Continuity within the organisation, the post holder will manage and report on continuity activities, including working with internal and external stakeholders including third party suppliers, to ensure an effective integrated response to potential disruptions. A key responsibility will be to capture and implement lessons learned, feeding these back into revised continuity plans, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and service resilience across NHS Lanarkshire, ensuring service continuity is continually reviewed within Digital. The Service Continuity Manager will appropriately manage associated risk and maintain a business continuity capability for NHS Lanarkshire.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Digital Strategy and Governance department within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters. The working pattern for this role: Monday to Friday.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Educated to Masters Degree Level in an IT subject or Business Analysis related area or have equivalent experience in an IM&T provision or business continuity role
* Post graduate expertise within an IT or health service area that demonstrates the required expert breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
* Extensive understanding of Health Care processes and procedures underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in a relevant IT or health service area, including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working and leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills
* Good knowledge of information technology
* Well developed, professional, presentational skills
* Good knowledge of the Data Protection and IT Security issues
* Able to drive and transport equipment, e.g. laptop, projector etc. when necessary and hold a current driving license.
