Newport Dialysis Unit is a dynamic 30 station unit providing haemodialysis treatment for 110 patients in partnership with the NHS Trust. The unit operates safe staffing with a protected 3:1 patient to nurse ratio. We are committed to supporting your professional journey. Training is provided on a supernumerary basis by an allocated unit mentor(s), which is supported by the Practice Development Nurse team with regular on-site meetings. Key Details Location: Newport Dialysis Unit, Suite B, Caradog House, Cleppa Park, NP10 8UG. Free parking available on site. Working hours : 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Saturday on a rolling rota. No Sunday or night shifts! 3 x 11.5 hour shifts per week plus an additional top up shift every month. Long Day = 07:00 - 18:30 Salary band: £30,420 - £37,030. Salary will be dependent on previous dialysis experience or experience working in acute care. Please note, this role is a fixed term position for 12 months. Your Main Responsibilities Develop and expand theoretical knowledge and practical skills involved in the care of a dialysis patient. Demonstrate competent and efficient patient assessment care needs, coordinating with the unit link role resources and multidisciplinary team, to ensure patients receive their optimum care. Demonstrate a proactive mentorship approach to the team, acting as a resource in the unit team, empowering patients, qualified nurses, ancillary staff and student nurses to share knowledge and skills.
