Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEN) Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Agency: Tradewind Recruitment Contract: Full-time / Part-time | Long-term & Day-to-Day opportunities Start Date: ASAP or by agreement About the Role Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Corby area to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs. You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs, either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, nurture, and positive behaviour support. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, adapting approaches to meet individual needs Support learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SEN team Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning Support pupils with personal care where required (training provided) Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting) A calm, patient, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (or willingness to train) Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach, Autism or SEMH training) are desirable but not essential.
