Job Title: Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Whetstone, N20
Hours: Shift work (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as required)
Salary: £122.25 - £15 per hour
About Us:
Sourcing Pro Recruitment is working on behalf of our client who has a newly established 2-bed children’s home in Whetstone, N20, providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for vulnerable young people. Our aim is to help each child feel valued, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting and caring for children and young people aged [insert age range, e.g., 8–17], many of whom may have experienced trauma, neglect, or other adverse life experiences. You will work as part of a small, dedicated team to create a stable and positive environment that promotes personal growth, education, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to children and young people.
* Support with daily routines including meals, activities, education, and bedtime.
* Promote positive behaviour and help develop life skills.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and care plans in line with regulatory requirements.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, and other professionals to meet the needs of each young person.
* Participate in household duties to maintain a safe and welcoming home environment.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are always followed.
Requirements:
* Approximately 2 years’ experience working in a children’s home or similar environment.
* Experience supporting vulnerable young people with challenging behaviours.
* Ideally hold (or be working towards) NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
* Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and care standards.
* Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
