This is a fixed-term post for 12 months providing specialist MSK Outpatient physiotherapy to children and young people (CYP) in outpatient clinic settings. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of children with musculoskeletal issues and/or physical and mobility difficulties. A significant proportion of these children will have English as an additional language (EAL). The post holder will manage their own caseload across multiple clinic sites and work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers, and colleagues in Health, Education, and Social Services.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing specialist MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy services to children and young people with a variety of MSK conditions within Hillingdon.
2. Providing specialist advice, programmes, and treatment plans to others regarding the management and care of CYP with MSK conditions.
3. Supervising the work of band 5 physiotherapists and students as required.
4. Assessing patients comprehensively, including those with complex presentations or multiple pathologies, using specialist knowledge and assessment techniques.
5. Formulating and delivering individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
6. Evaluating patient progress, reassessing, and modifying treatment plans accordingly.
7. Developing clinical diagnoses and prognoses, making intervention recommendations, and planning discharge.
8. Working in community settings, including lone working with telephone support from senior physiotherapists if needed.
9. Ensuring the safe and competent use of all equipment and appliances.
Candidate requirements:
* HCPC registered Physiotherapist
* Excellent paediatric musculoskeletal skills
* Interest in clinical audit, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement projects
* NHS physiotherapy experience

You will work across outpatient clinics at GP surgeries, health centres, and the Hillingdon Child Development Centre at Wood End Clinic.
