Job Title: Head of Pensions Administration
Salary:£68,468 - £72,525 per annum

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Pensions Administration to lead the administration of the £4 billion Worcestershire Pension Fund, serving over 70,000 members and 200 employers across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
As part of the councils Finance Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the Funds strategic direction, driving service excellence, and managing reputational risk in a highly visible and scrutinised environment.
The RoleYou will lead a team, and develop, approximately 40 staff including 3 direct reports. Overseeing teams covering Benefits, Employers, Governance, Communications, systems and payroll.The role also provides strategic advice to the Pension Committee, Pension Board, Senior stakeholders, including direct engagement with the Pension Regulator and central government.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering high quality, cost effective administration and employer engagement services.
• Leading the Pensions Administration Strategy and monitoring service level agreements.
• Overseeing employer covenant risk, leading the coordination of the valuation process and delivering effective member communications.
• Advising on complex pension issues including admissions, funding and liabilities
• Ensuring statutory compliance and managing internal audits of the administration service and risk registers.
• Managing 3rd party relationships and contracts for the Fund.
• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to Financial and Procurement Regulations.
About You
You are a highly skilled and motivated leader with:
• Substantial experience of managing a large public sector pension scheme (preferably LGPS).
• Proven track record of leading change, improving services, and managing teams.
• Significant experience of leading, managing and developing individuals and teams within a large and diverse staff group including behavioural competencies and performance management.
• In depth knowledge of LGPS Regulations, pensions governance, and employer engagement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior political and executive stakeholders.• A relevant qualification (Level 6 e.g. honours degree) and a pensions or finance qualification.
