About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Site Engineer / Assistant Package Manager to join our Steel Works Team on the prestigious Old Oak Common Station Project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of complex structural and station envelope works, focusing on steel construction packages. You will assist in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the management of steel works packages during preconstruction and construction phases.
* Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy.
* Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress against programme requirements.
* Contribute to health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activities.
* Maintain accurate project records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
* Participate in short-term planning, progress meetings, and milestone reviews.
* Assist with quality assurance processes, snagging, and inspections.
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree-level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MSc) or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a construction environment (placement or graduate level desirable).
* Knowledge of steel works and structural elements within large infrastructure projects.
* Awareness of scheduling, programme management, and quality control processes.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory standards.
* Excellent communication and IT skills, including familiarity with BIM and construction management tools.
Desirable:
* SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
* Experience with NEC3 contracts and document control systems (e.g., BC, eB, CEMAR).
