We’re recruiting for a Sourcing Manager to join our Business Services team with knowledge and experience of Technology and Outsourcing procurement. We’re offering a competitive base salary and a strong benefits package.Our Group Procurement team launched a 3-year transformation strategy in 2023 and secured investment in people and systems to deliver the vision of creating a Procurement Centre of Excellence for Legal and General.We have embed category management and expertise, drive innovative sourcing strategies and are partnering with stakeholders to become a strategic enabler for the business.The Business Services sourcing team is a key component of the transformation activity taking place across L&G. We are looking for a Sourcing Manager who brings experience and knowledge, who can work flexibly, and who will prioritise engagement and collaboration with our L&G colleagues to ensure great business partnering and to deliver the best outcomes.A typical working week is two days in an office (Hove or London) and three days at home.What you’ll be doing:
1. Managing a variety of procurement/sourcing engagements
2. Leading and conducting sourcing activities and negotiations for renewals, in-life negotiations and new supplier engagements ensuring relevant control and governance requirements are met, as demand dictates
3. Collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive strategic procurement initiatives
4. Support monitoring of adherence to established contracts and realisation of savings, collaborating with contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) teams as required
5. Actively identify and lead opportunities to drive value and improve performance of potential supply base while seeking to reduce cost and risk and improve performance and value.
6. Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies
7. Ensuring all contracting and commitment to spend is undertaken and governed in accordance with compliance with procurement policies and procedures
8. Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools
9. Providing guidance and support to junior team members
10. Participating in the transformation and optimisation of supply spend
QualificationsWho we’re looking for:
11. An in-depth knowledge of category management, sourcing execution and using procurement technology
12. Experience of undertaking and managing activities and negotiations in a regulated environment
13. A good knowledge of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks, understanding of spend categories, financial models, regulatory landscape, and impact on commercial agreements. A working knowledge of Master Services Agreements is essential
14. A solid knowledge of tools and techniques to execute strategic sourcing (e.g., RFI and RFP processes, spend analytics, e-RFQ tools, etc.)
15. Someone who is adaptable, collaborative and can drive good business outcomes
16. Someone with a willingness to learn and a drive for continuous improvement
17. Someone with the ability to use as appropriate their judgement, communication and influencing skills
18. Excellent oral and written skills
