Location: Hybrid / Flexible Working (West Midlands preferred)
Hours: 2–3 Days Per Week
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 Pro Rata
Reporting To: Managing Director

Applebough Education is a specialist education recruitment business supporting schools, academies and academy trusts across the Midlands, London and the South East.

Following our successful award onto the Government Commercial Agency's RM6376 Supply Teachers & Education Recruitment Framework, we are entering an exciting period of growth and expansion. As we continue to increase our presence across our regions, we are looking for an experienced Marketing & Brand Manager to help strengthen our market position and support our ambitious growth plans.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional who enjoys building brands, influencing strategy and making a visible impact within a growing business.

Working directly with the Managing Director, you will take ownership of Applebough's marketing activity, helping to increase brand awareness, strengthen engagement with schools and academy trusts, attract high-quality education professionals and support business growth across our regions.

This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the company as we continue to expand.

Key Responsibilities

You will develop and implement Applebough's marketing strategy, identifying opportunities to increase market share and support growth across the Midlands, London and the South East. You will monitor market trends and competitor activity while ensuring our brand remains visible and well-positioned within the education sector.

The role will involve strengthening our brand presence through consistent messaging, creating marketing collateral, case studies and success stories, and managing our digital marketing activity.

You will oversee social media channels, create engaging content for schools, academy trusts and candidates, and develop thought leadership campaigns that demonstrate our expertise within education recruitment.

You will also design and deliver targeted marketing campaigns aimed at schools, academy trusts, teachers, teaching assistants and SEN professionals. In addition, you will manage website content, support SEO initiatives and help improve both candidate attraction and employer engagement.

Reporting and analysis will form an important part of the role, including producing monthly performance reports, measuring campaign effectiveness and providing recommendations for future marketing activity.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with previous marketing experience, a strong understanding of digital marketing and social media, and experience creating and managing successful marketing campaigns.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong content creation skills and the ability to work independently while taking ownership of projects. Commercial awareness and a results-focused approach are essential.

Experience within recruitment or the education sector would be advantageous, as would knowledge of CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, academy trusts or public sector organisations.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, we would expect to see increased brand awareness across our target regions, stronger engagement with schools and academy trusts, improved candidate attraction and retention, and consistent marketing campaigns supporting business growth.

Success will also be measured through clear reporting, measurable return on marketing activity and a growing market presence across our key regions.
