Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Solihull (with travel across the Midlands region required)Salary: £75,000 £90,000 + £7,500 Car Allowance + 15% Bonus + Fuel CardAbout the Company A well-established and growing commercial groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure packages across residential, commercial, logistics, and industrial developments throughout the UK Midlands region.The business has a strong reputation for delivering complex groundworks schemes safely, on time, and within budget, with a healthy pipeline of secured projects and continued long-term growth.The Role An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to take full commercial responsibility for multiple commercial groundworks and civil engineering projects. Based from the Solihull office, the role will involve regular site visits and travel across the Midlands.You will work closely with operational teams and senior leadership to ensure robust commercial control, maximise profitability, and manage risk across a portfolio of active schemes.This is a key role within the commercial team, offering autonomy, variety, and clear progression within a fast-growing contractor.Key Responsibilities Full commercial management of multiple groundworks and civil engineering projectsPreparation of CVRs, cost reporting, and monthly forecastingManagement of subcontract procurement and subcontract accountsValuations, applications for payment, and interim accountsVariations management and agreement with clients/subcontractorsPreparation and agreement of final accountsCommercial support to operational delivery teamsIdentification and mitigation of commercial and contractual riskAttendance at client and site progress meetingsMaintaining and developing strong client relationshipsSupporting junior members of the commercial team where requiredRequirements Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within commercial groundworks or civil engineeringStrong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contractsExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong commercial awareness and contract administration skillsExcellent negotiation, communication, and reporting abilityAbility to work autonomously and within a team environmentFull UK driving licenceWillingness to travel across regional project sitesDesirable Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineExperience within residential infrastructure, roads & sewers, and external works packagesBackground working for a specialist groundworks contractorExperience mentoring or supporting junior QS staffPackage £75,000 £90,000 basic salary£7,500 car allowance15% annual performance bonusFuel cardPension schemePrivate healthcareHoliday entitlementLong-term career progression within a growing commercial groundworks contractorTPBN1_UKTJ
