Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday flexible start time between 07:00 to 09:00)

Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Carrier Manager. This is a permanent role for an experienced Carrier Manager to take responsibility for recruiting, on-boarding and managing haulier partners within a busy subcontract haulage operation.
Carrier Manager Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Carrier Manager, responsible for expanding and managing the haulier network, maintaining compliance, and monitoring performance standards. The Carrier Manager will also play a key role in driving operational efficiency, cost control, and supporting business growth.
Carrier Manager Key Responsibilities:
Haulier Recruitment & Network Growth
Expand the haulier pool through advertising, market research, referrals, and networking
Work with Sales & Marketing to align haulier recruitment with new business wins and tenders
As Carrier Manager, proactively seek new haulier partnerships to support business growth
Resource Planning & Relationship Management
Maintain a comprehensive haulier database and assess regional resource coverage
Build a searchable system for haulier information to support operational needs
Develop and maintain strong relationships with haulier partners as a Carrier Manager to ensure loyalty and collaboration
On-boarding & Compliance Management
On-board new haulier partners according to company procedures, including TMS and real time vehicle tracking integration
Ensure haulier data is accurate and up to date
Monitor compliance with safety, legal and insurance requirements
Conduct regular performance reviews to maintain operational standards
Cost Control & Operational Efficiency
Work with operations to ensure competitive carrier rates aligned with business targets
Promote sustainable transport initiatives by partnering with low-emission carriers
Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency and reduce costs
Carrier Manager Skills & Experience Required:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn TMS
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Knowledge of operator licensing, insurance regulations, and UK haulage markets
Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
Strong communication skills, especially over the phone

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Eligible for Group Bonus Scheme after 3 months
Monday–Friday, 42.5 hours per week (45 hours including a 30-minute paid break) with flexible start times between 07:00 - 09:00 start times
