The Money
£200-£400 per day
The Work
This is proper fibre work in AI and high-performance data centres - clean environments, high standards, no rushed FTTH installs.
You'll be:
Cutting and cleaving fibres
Fusion splicing (single fibre & ribbon fibre)
Carrying out fibre terminations
Testing with OTDRs and power meters
Troubleshooting when things don't look rightPrecision matters here.
What you need
At least 1 year's experience fibre splicing / splicing
City & Guilds in Optical Cabling & Splicing
ETA or BICSI Fibre Optic Technician qualification
Steady hands, good eyesight, and real attention to detailYou must be confident using
Precision cleavers
Fusion splicers
Fibre microscopes
OTDRs & power meters
