Job Description

The Bristol City Council's Children Residential Service offers a unique opportunity to join our team in providing therapeutic care experiences for children with complex needs. Full Time, Permanent.

About Us

We have transitioned to smaller homes, focusing on personalised care for 2 to 4 children at a time. This approach allows us to match placements and provide a homely environment where children feel safe, loved, and nurtured. Our trauma‑informed approach ensures we understand and meet each child’s individual needs, empowering them to thrive.

Who We're Looking For

Positive, reflective, resilient, and non‑punitive individuals who share our passion for working with children who have faced early life challenges. Candidates who embody the Bristol Values of Respect, Collaboration, Curiosity, Ownership, and Dedication are highly desirable. We value those committed to upholding the principles from PACE in their caregiving.

Why Join Us

As part of our team you will benefit from:

* A supportive work environment with ongoing training and development opportunities.
* Regular 1:1 supervision to ensure your professional growth.
* Level 5 Apprenticeship opportunities for unqualified staff.
* Flexible shift patterns including sleep‑in duties, weekend working, and Bank Holidays.
* Competitive pay rates including allowances for shift work, sleep‑in duties, and Bank Holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

As part of the management team, you will deliver high‑quality managerial support and mentoring and supervision to staff, enabling them to maintain a high professional standard. You will contribute to the day‑to‑day running of the home and will receive support from the registered manager and senior managers to accomplish this role.

Additional Requirements

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

EEO Statement

We are a Disability Confident employer which means we value recruiting and retaining disabled people. Any job applicants who consider themselves to be disabled and meet the essential criteria in the Person Specification are guaranteed an interview.
