Main Duties
This Full‑time post will commence as soon as possible. The position available is within the JPUH and NNUH Urology Service. This is a Non‑Training Post and Full GMC Registration is required. Although this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval for training recognition, it offers full teaching and training opportunities.
The successful candidate will be allocated a named clinical and educational supervisor to oversee their development and career, and will be encouraged to perform audit projects and participate in research.
It is a fixed term post from Dec 25 for 6 months. The vacancy may be closed early if a large volume of applications are received.
Responsibilities
* Work at CT1 level, supporting the Foundation Year 1 trainee and providing support to the on‑call urology cover during the day.
* Be supported and supervised by two senior Specialty Doctors.
* Be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the urology ward, assist in theatre sessions, and arrange admissions and discharges under consultant supervision.
* Conduct a ward round each morning, mainly elective patients; emergency urology patients are admitted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
* Assess urology referrals on the ward and in the Emergency Department prior to transfer under consultant supervision.
* Participate in audit work and take a proactive role in departmental audits.
