Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Senior Infrastructure Engineer – we are looking for an experienced professional to own a diverse enterprise environment spanning on-premises, hybrid, and cloud technologies. You will help maintain and modernise critical infrastructure, support cloud transitions, and ensure the reliability of core IT services.
This role is highly varied and suits an engineer who works across platforms including servers, storage, backup, cloud, and networking. You will contribute to our client’s hybrid migration journey, balancing operational support with forward-looking project delivery.
Responsibilities
* Own and maintain a diverse enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
* Support cloud transitions and ensure reliability of core IT services.
* Work across platforms: servers, storage, backup, cloud, and networking.
* Contribute to hybrid migration initiatives and project delivery.
Core technologies you will be working on
* Microsoft: SCCM, Intune, SCOM (advanced knowledge essential), M365, Azure (IaaS & PaaS), Exchange Online & On-Prem, Windows Server (2003–2019+), SQL Server (install, backup/restore, queries).
* Virtualisation & Backup: VMware ESX, Veeam.
* Storage & Compute: Dell PowerEdge, Dell PowerVault, NetApp, QNAP, Nutanix, PureStorage.
* Other Platforms: Citrix, Red Hat Linux/other Linux distributions.
* Networking: Strong understanding of routing, switching, and firewalls (with 3rd-party support).
Who are you?
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering (oil & gas sector desirable).
* Advanced hands-on expertise with SCCM, Intune, and SCOM.
* Deep working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.
* Strong experience across VMware, Azure, Windows Server, Exchange, and Veeam.
* Good knowledge of networking fundamentals and IP addressing.
* Broad exposure to enterprise storage, backup, and compute platforms.
* Ability to troubleshoot across servers, networks, and applications.
Desirable
* Experience with Citrix, NetApp, QNAP, Nutanix, PureStorage, or Linux.
* Offshore certification.
* ITIL or vendor certifications (Microsoft Azure, VMware, M365).
* A valid BOSIET certificate advantageous but not a prerequisite.
Preferred Certifications (or willingness to achieve – training provided)
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computing, Computer Science).
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or above.
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
* Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
* ITIL Foundation.
