An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Manager position within Children and Young People Directorate.
Reporting to the Directorate Manager, supporting Service Managers, the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative business support to the Neonatal.
The successful candidate will require a sound understanding of rota management, patient clinical pathways and experience using Welsh Clinical Portal and Welsh PAS is desirable.
This role will require the ability to work independently and as part of a Directorate and Service Team, together with excellent communication and organisation skills to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
The base of this role will be Singleton Hospital but there may be a requirement to travel between other sites as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work autonomously in managing the day to day delivery of the administration service. This will include;
1. Participating in service cover on a rotational basis. As such the post holder will be required to use initiative and manage queries autonomously, escalating clinical concerns as appropriate.
2. Staying up to date with national government guidance and guidelines, offering this guidance as advice when appropriate.
3. Handling significant quantities of confidential and business sensitive information on behalf of the Service.
4. Responsible for own personal development and setting of personal goals and objectives as part of the health board appraisal process.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge

5. Appropriate degree level qualification in related area or equivalent demonstrable experience
6. Developed knowledge and confidence in the use of IT software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Electronic Diaries, and Internet
7. Ability to collate, analyse and draw conclusions from data and present reports in a variety of formats
Desirable criteria
8. Experience using NHS systems e.g. Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP), Welsh Patient Administration Services (WPAS) etc
