Ceded reinsurance technician

You will play a key supporting role working alongside the Head of Reinsurance and the Ceded Reinsurance Manager with placements, treaty administration, data submissions, and reporting.
This is an exciting, hands-on role that offers excellent exposure to the reinsurance value chain — from treaty design and negotiations to operational delivery. It is an opportunity to develop technical and commercial reinsurance skills in a fun, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support in Reinsurance Placements
* Assist with preparing submission data and renewal information packs for brokers and reinsurers.
* Support in monitoring placement timelines and tracking progress of reinsurance renewals.
* Help collate and validate data used in reinsurance negotiations.
Operational Support
* Maintain accurate records of treaties, slips, wordings, collateral agreements, and amendments.
* Assist in reviewing and processing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Track and organise correspondence with reinsurers and brokers.
Financial & Reporting Support
* Assist Finance and Accounting with booking, settlement, and reconciliations of ceded transactions.
* Help monitor ceded premium, recoverables, and balances due from reinsurers.
* Prepare standard management reports and presentations to support senior leadership.
Collaboration & Learning
* Work closely with colleagues across Actuarial, Underwriting, Capital, and Claims to support reinsurance processes.
* Engage with MGAs to capture underwriting updates and reflect them in reinsurance data.
* Participate in team meetings, broker calls, and reinsurer discussions to gain direct market exposure.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
* Prior experience in ceded reinsurance, treaty management, or related insurance/reinsurance roles (min 2 years).
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
* Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Curiosity and enthusiasm to develop reinsurance knowledge, with a proactive approach to learning.
* Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent
* Interest in pursuing professional insurance qualifications (CII, ARe, CPCU) encouraged and supported.
