Respect, Engage, Aspire

We are a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust comprising Queen Elizabeth High School and Hexham Middle School and are looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our team. This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a real difference to young people and their educational outcomes.

About the Role

The Attendance Officer plays a vital role in supporting students by promoting excellent attendance, monitoring patterns of absence, and working closely with students, families, and staff to remove barriers to learning.

Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher, you will:

• Monitor and analyse attendance data using the Trust’s management information system.
• Follow up unexplained absences daily, liaising with parents and carers.
• Work alongside the wider student support team and external agencies to support children at risk of persistent absence.
• Provide advice and guidance to families, which may include making home visits where appropriate.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and referrals to support school improvement and compliance with local authority processes.
• Contribute to safeguarding, student welfare, and the wider ethos of the Trust.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Is skilled at building strong, constructive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external agencies.
• Is driven, enthusiastic and who places student welfare at the heart of what they do.
• Can work with sensitivity, resilience, and professionalism in challenging situations.
• Has strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Has strong IT skills and is confident working with data to analyse trends.
• Has access to their own transport to support work across the Trust.

Why Join Us?

At Hadrian Learning Trust, we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where staff and students can thrive. As part of our team, you will benefit from:

• Being part of a high-achieving and ambitious multi academy trust.
• Opportunities for training and professional development.
• A strong commitment to staff wellbeing.
• Making a genuine impact on the lives of young people in our community.

The successful applicant will access a supportive induction and training package. We welcome applications from all underrepresented groups and we are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, on commencement, or once in post
