Night Security Supervisor
Equans is hiring a Night Security Supervisor to join the Southern Water contracts on a permanent basis at Teswood, Southampton (SO40 3WX). The role operates 42 hours per week and offers a competitive salary of £31,043.34 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will oversee various administrative, financial, and operational tasks, ensuring compliance with industry standards specific to the water sector. Experience in managing security operations in a utility environment is preferred.
Shift Pattern
Night shifts 7pm – 7am. Candidates must have their own means of transport as there is no public transport near the site.
Key Responsibilities
 * Oversee daily security team operations, ensuring efficient task completion.
 * Perform security risk assessments to identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities.
 * Monitor surveillance and alarm systems, swiftly responding to security breaches or incidents.
 * Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders during security emergencies.
 * Educate and train security personnel on protocols and emergency response plans.
 * Regularly inspect security equipment (CCTV, access control, alarms) to ensure proper functioning and upkeep.
 * Investigate security incidents, accidents, and breaches, preparing comprehensive reports with improvement recommendations.
 * Collaborate across departments to integrate security measures into all operational facets.
 * Follow security trends, technologies, and regulations, providing recommendations for system and procedural enhancements.
Requirements
 * SIA License Door Supervisor >2 years’ experience.
 * SIA CCTV License required.
 * Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong reporting skills.
 * Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Proactive problem–solving and escalation management.
 * Flexibility to manage security operations during non‑standard hours, including nights and weekends.
