Equity Settlements Operations Specialist – 12‑Month Contract

The Opportunity
A global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Equity Settlements Operations Specialist to join its London-based operations team on a 12‑month contract. The role supports equity trading activity across European and North American markets and sits within a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an operations professional with strong settlements experience to contribute immediately within a well‑established team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage end‑to‑end equity settlement processing across multiple markets and legal entities
2. Ensure timely settlement of trades and proactive management of settlement fails
3. Monitor and process cash movements, providing funding support where required
4. Perform daily stock and cash reconciliations and investigate breaks
5. Liaise with front office, internal operations teams, custodians, counterparties, and agents
6. Resolve settlement issues efficiently, escalating risks when appropriate
7. Support coverage across European and North American trading hours
8. Maintain strong operational controls and support risk mitigation initiatives
Required experience & Knowledge
9. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
10. Proven experience in equity trade settlement and post‑trade operations
11. Strong knowledge of and Canadian markets; European market experience required
12. experience handling settlement fails, reconciliations, and cash funding
13. Familiarity with settlement platforms and market infrastructures such as Gloss
14. Exposure to additional asset classes is advantageous but not essential
