Analyst
Invest Manchester (Manchester’s Inward Investment Agency), in partnership with The Growth Company (GC), is seeking an Analyst to deliver high-quality, evidence-based intelligence that supports business development and informs management decision-making. This role involves producing and analysing data and research aligned to organisational priorities and operational needs.
Invest Manchester plays a key role in attracting investment into Greater Manchester (GM). In this role, you will analyse market data, produce actionable intelligence, and support strategic targeting activity to strengthen the region’s investment proposition. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their career with a strong interest in data, business, and economic development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather and analyse market intelligence using databases, systems, and online platforms
2. Produce reports, insights, and presentations for senior stakeholders
3. Support business development through targeted research and lead generation
4. Create and maintain management information (MI) and KPI reports
5. Support CRM systems, data quality, and ongoing system improvements
6. Respond to client and stakeholder requests, including research, benchmarking, and data analysis
7. Assist with administrative tasks such as budget tracking, invoices, and ad-hoc reporting
About You:
8. Educated to degree level (or equivalent), ideally in a relevant subject
9. Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
10. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
11. Confident communicator, able to present data clearly and effectively
12. Interested in data, business, and economic development
13. Able to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders
Skills Required:
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
15. Ability to interpret data and present meaningful insights
16. High-quality written and presentation skills
17. Good organisational and project management ability
18. Knowledge of Excel advanced functions (pivot tables, formulas, charts)
19. Awareness of inward investment or economic development
20. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools would be advantageous
21. An understanding of CRM systems would be advantageous
