Based in Huddersfield, with convenient access to the M62, making it an easy commute from Barnsley, Halifax, Bradford, Leeds, Rochdale, Oldham, Manchester, Wakefield, Rotherham, and Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:
1. Collaborate within a skilled, inclusive team to build and assemble industrial gearboxes.
2. Work directly from technical drawings and instructions, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
3. Compile reports on the quality of components used in gearboxes, recording essential details such as serial/cast numbers.
4. Operate and maintain the test rig for high-tolerance marine gearbox testing, following all protocols.
5. Conduct functional tests on gearboxes, setting up test parameters and recording data accurately.
6. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, working closely with the engineering team to resolve challenges.
7. Contribute to the development and improvement of testing procedures.
8. Participate in the installation and commissioning of marine gearboxes.
Qualifications:
1. A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
2. Experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a heavy engineering environment.
3. Knowledge of gearboxes and rotating equipment.
Working Hours Available:
Double Days (Rotating AM/PM Shifts):
1. AM Shift: 40 hours/week - 18% shift allowance
2. Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 14:30
3. PM Shift: 34 hours/week - 18% shift allowance
4. Monday to Thursday, 14:30 to 22:00
5. Friday, 14:30 to 18:30
Night Shift:
1. Monday to Wednesday, 21:00 to 07:00
2. Thursday, 21:00 to 06:00
3. Overtime available.
Pay and Benefits:
1. Base Salary: £36,080
2. AM/PM Shifts: £42,574
3. Nights: £47,986.40
4. Holiday Entitlement: 33 days, including public holidays.
