About the Role
Due to department growth, we are looking for experienced Category/ Procurement Managers with a background in IT Procurement, and ideally, with a Telco background. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Procurement and senior stakeholders and directly influence customer experience.
What you will be working on
1. Responsibility for a category of spend and developing a strategy to support the overall business initiatives that provides a platform for continuous cost reduction and improved supplier performance.
2. Ensure the commercial and contractual relationships and frameworks are created and adhered to.
3. Focus the sourcing activities on the areas of most value to the business in terms of spend, risk and service provision.
4. Own and implement an agreed purchasing strategy, developing, extending and changing it as necessary.
5. Manage Stakeholder relations to influence spend synergies.
6. Make recommendations for new initiatives and concepts.
7. Manage the commercial aspects of the relationship within the category with suppliers and define the supplier KPIs and SLG’s for contract development.
8. Work with stakeholders on their forecasted projects for future buying requirements.
9. Communicate with stakeholders and management to ensure that the Purchasing strategy, approach and process for category is understood, agreed and complied with.
10. Ensure agreed savings targets are delivered and customer satisfaction requirements are met.
What will make you successful in your role?
11. Solid procurement experience within IT/Telecoms area including experience with hardware and software vendors
12. Experience of negotiating complex software delivery engagements covering resources, hardware and software.
13. Experience building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders on all levels
14. An influencer with skill in internal and external negotiations
15. Excellent communication and presentation skills
16. Commercial understanding and the ability to manage complex contracts
17. Negotiation, leadership and decision-making skills
18. Enthusiastic and motivated team player who contributes to a positive team dynamic
19. Background in telecoms would be an added advantage
